CRMT presentations at the SIOUG 2009, Portorož

For all who are using Oracle technology, either as developers or end users, the annual SIOUG conference is the most important event in Slovenia.

This year, the conference will be taking place in Portorož from September 20 to 23, and yet again our experts will participate with presentations from real life.

Aleš Ravbar, BI Consultant, will present the ODI real-time ETL for DW on CDC principle. He will focus to basic questions which need answers before one starts with CDC based real-time ODI ETL project:
• How to implement real-time ETL for DW on CDC principle?
• Which CDC principle is suitable to which transaction content?
• How to customize ODI knowledge modules to dependant CDC principle and database source limitations?

With a help of Mr. Rittman’s papers published on Oracle Technology web site, he will present an interesting experience in implementing a POC solution on ORACLE RDBMS at one of CRMT's customers.
 
Uroš Jemec, BI Consultant, will expose a project of rebuilding the SKB d.d. DataWarehouse with ODI, starting with what were the bank’s grounds for choosing the ODI. The presentation will show practical work with ODI, the importance of controlling the ETL process over large data volumes from various sources, the importance of replicating the process, and more. He will show the DW architecture, data cleansing concepts and DBA error messaging procedures.
