The International Controller Association was founded by graduates of the Controller Academy in Gauting/Munich in 1975 as the first of its kind. Till today, the ICV numbers over 6,000 members in 13 European countries. In Slovenia, ICV work group was founded in March 2008 and number of members grows constantly.
The ICV is a non-profit organization, dedicated solely to serving its members. The main priority is an exchange of ideas, communication between members and a focus on future-based trends. The ICV brings together controllers, CFOs, managers and academics. It combines practical experience and the latest research findings and processes this knowledge for implementation in the field. The guiding principle of our controlling philosophy is economically sustainable success. Under this perspective we give our members a point of reference in the flood of new controlling currents. At the same time we address the main developments in daily business management and provide practical tools based on our findings. The ICV thus contributes to the personal success of its members and the sustainable value enhancement of companies. Today, the International Controller Association is the international address for controlling expertise.
Current economic situation influences every single segment including business controlling and its day to day activities. Controlling itself gained huge importance as an internal economic consultancy.
What is really expected from controllers in order to be or to become real internal business counselor?
On the bottom line, controlling is a part of all our daily activities consciously or unconsciously in personal life and in business. It is expected from us to plan our activities, monitor execution, detect and analyze deviations from strategic and operational plans and prepare corrective measures where needed. Controlling is tightly integrated with Corporate Performance Management in business world, responsible business opportunities and threats detection and preparing process rationalizations based on these findings.
Controlling philosophy is playing more and more important role also in non-profit organizations and public sector.
Peering with professionals and presenters gives you the opportunity to gather new ideas, methodologies and best practice as well as knowledge exchange.
Number of foreign and Slovenian speakers are welcome you on 10th Controlling Conference. We are honored to announce Mr. Siegfried Gänßlen, CEO, Hansgrohe AG, Germany and ICV president as a keynote speaker.
Join us to this year Touch the future, since orientation towards the future is a fundamental aspect of controlling.

How is Results Based Budgeting and Controlling making the efforts of public management more effective and transparent?
Providing information whether output achieves the settled impact and outcome?
Many governments are struggling with general trends such as:
Increasing needs for public services while resources decline
Increasing demand for quality of public services and transparency of public spending
Stakeholders’ interest shifting from output to outcome of public services (efficiency does not automatically mean effectiveness!)
The introduction of results based budgeting and controlling is key to assure that government uses public resources efficiently and effectively. Controlling makes possible that government and its institutions are planning, setting and implementing activities properly.

The dramatic changes in the economy drive significant changes in CFO area, as well. The responsibility of this position is extending : the focus of its activities is moving from pure financials to business performance.
This change requires extended toolset: new approach in internal cooperation, deeper business knowledge, flexible business intelligence system are needed. The transformation is a long road and the best already took the first steps.
