Ensuring that data is of high quality is one thing. Ensuring that it remains of high quality is another, which requires governance. Further, data needs to be consistent across the enterprise and not isolated in silos of information. This requires some way of ensuring consistency across data sources, which typically means consolidating those sources or aligning them by means of master data management. In either case there is a significant data integration challenge involved. And then there is compliance and governance, which is essentially about the establishment of policies and the monitoring of the processes and people that will ensure that those policies are adhered to. The bottom line is that there is a lot involved in the management of data and its governance and organisations need to take a broad view of requirements that span all of these (and other) disciplines. It is these topics that will be discussed in this presentation.

We will create the awareness, that management reports can only be understood
- when we tell the receivers of our reports what we have to tell and
- when we communicate in an understandable unified way.
By applying the main SUCCESS® rules we increase the readability and the understanding of reports and enable the visual display of complex information. To make sure that management reports have something to report, prof. Dr. Rolf Hichert has developped SUCCESS rules for better reports. Powerful reports convey a strong message to the management and provide them with high information density. Clear and unified information design ensures the fast readability and the correct understanding of these information.

In the current economic situation there are many internal and external changes facing the CXOs (Chief Executive Officers, Chief Finance Officers, Chief Information Officers) team and all departments involved in managing an organization’s performance. The most important effect of these challenges is the rising complexity in managing the business. In order to support the new business scenario, the organizations must change their culture, the scope of responsibility of the CFO has been dramatically changed. The CFO is no longer a transactional, control, and accounting officer, he/she must also focused on creating value for the greater enterprise by providing financial leadership. The impact of finance should be expanded beyond the walls of the finance itself to the rest of organization. As more and more operational data needs to be gathered, analyzed and monitored and integrated with financial data, the finance department has to interact and serve more business groups (sales, marketing, HR, operations) within the company.
The existing Corporate Performance Management (CPM) generation is not enough adequate for supporting this new business scenario, a new approach is required, the organizations need a unified solution able to communicate goals and deadlines with teams, share information, manage financial processes (budgeting, closing, consolidation, reporting, …), and analyze data.CFOs need an enterprise solution to simplify the growing business complexity in highly competitive markets, manage large international teams, meet faster deadlines and pressing governance regulations. The new approach able to support the organization on these requirements is the Collaborative Performance Management. Today, thanks to Tagetik 3.0 Enabled by Microsoft Office SharePoint, this new generation is a real fact, in one unified enterprise solution is possible:
Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate with increasingly large and international teams, through the sharing of activities, calendars, deadlines, ...
Increase productivity through collaborative software
Analyze data in a simple and intuitive way
Share structured and unstructured information
Benefit from a highly collaborative tool across all the enterprise – from production to sales departments
Leverage your existing IT infrastructure

The applications for the analysis/assessment of the company business performance are becoming strategic for the existence of the organizations and not just part of a company's competitive strategy. The many proposed solutions from the market are in most of the cases identified with the label of Corporate Performance Management (CPM). This myriad of products and the frequently incorrect classification of these solutions under the CPM hat, generate a lot of confusion in the corporate world. The aim of this session is to clarify the course participants how to choose / implement a CPM solution.
