Same Question, Three Different Answers: The Governance Gap Behind Conversational AI

Ask three AI assistants what your regional revenue was last quarter, and you may well get three different numbers. The AI did not misunderstand the question. Each assistant simply took its definition of “revenue” from a different place. In this blog post, we explain why metric definitions, business logic, and access rules must stay governed outside the AI, in a universal semantic layer. That way, the same question returns the same answer, no matter which tool or model asks it.

In Brief
The Infrastructure Challenge Behind Enterprise AI
In the third part of our AI-Ready Data series, we look at what happens once AI moves beyond the pilot phase. The article builds on Dirk Beerbohm’s (Exasol) session at our AI Success Starts with AI-Ready Data event. It explains why AI workloads place very different demands on infrastructure than traditional analytics. They need more computing power, the ability to process structured and unstructured data together, and execution as close to the data as possible. The article also explores why governance, data sovereignty, and deployment models are back at the top of the agenda, especially in regulated industries. Read more.
Exasol: Eliminating the Query Speed Bottleneck
Analytics that arrives too late cannot influence decisions. Exasol is a high-performance analytics database built for high-concurrency AI and analytics workloads. It delivers fast, consistent query performance even as more AI agents, applications, and users query the data at the same time. Organizations keep full control over where their data runs and how governance is enforced. CRMT has been Exasol’s regional sales and implementation partner since 2016. Discover how Exasol can accelerate your BI, reporting, and AI use cases.
Data Chaos or Single Source of Truth? Pure AI vs. a Hybrid Semantic Layer
A pure AI that “builds its own semantic layer” makes for an impressive demo. In real business environments, however, it quickly leads to inconsistent answers, poor decisions, and regulatory risk. In this blog post, we compare two fundamentally different approaches to data management. We also explain why a hybrid semantic layer gives the business a single source of truth it can rely on. The Future of Controlling: From Automation to Agentic AI
Controlling is not facing a staffing crisis but a competence crisis. In this webinar, two CRMT experts walk through three levels of AI in controlling: classical predictive analytics, generative AI, and agentic AI. The speakers are Jan Markun, xP&A advisor and head of the School of Controlling, and Matej Petrovčič, co-founder and director of CRMT. They show how the controller’s role is changing and which competences are gaining importance. They also present a practical example of an AI agent that combines deterministic data from business reports with AI-generated additions into a single, reliable source of information for decision-making. Watch the recording.

Controlling for Managers: From Strategic Vision to Operational Decisions
Strategy creates value only once it is translated into clear goals, relevant metrics, and timely business decisions. Together with the Business Center of the School of Economics and Business, we have prepared a one-day program that connects the strategic and operational sides of performance management.
In the morning session, Prof. Matej Lahovnik from the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, shows how to cascade vision and strategy into measurable goals and track them with BSC, OKRs, and KPIs. In the afternoon, Jan Markun from the CRMT School of Controlling covers the controlling processes that turn strategic goals into operational decisions. These include planning, variance analysis, contribution margin analysis, management reporting, and the role of BI and AI in decision support.

When Dashboards Replace Guesswork: Resalta’s Journey to Real-Time Operational Controlling
How do you manage 229 active projects across seven countries and two business models when some contracts run for 25 years? At the 21st Adriatic Controlling Conference, Aleš Jurak, COO of Resalta, showed that the answer lies in data architecture. The blog post follows Resalta’s path from Excel-based project tracking to a data foundation built by CRMT, with analytics delivered on the Strategy platform. The result is five interconnected operational dashboards. One of them is an IRR tracker that compares actual returns against the baselines approved by the investment committee over the full project lifetime. Read more.
From Data to Decisions: The CFO as Performance Orchestrator
CRMT was a proud sponsor of Global CCH® Tagetik inTouch 2026 in Lucca, Italy. More than 750 finance leaders, partners, and product experts gathered there to discuss the evolving Office of the CFO. The central message was the shift from isolated digitization to performance orchestration, which means linking financial results to operational drivers in real time. In the event polling, nearly half of respondents named trusted data as a prerequisite for adopting autonomous agents. Meanwhile, capabilities such as Expert AI and Planning Sentinel are being embedded directly into planning and reporting workflows. Read more.
How Zavarovalnica Triglav Sets New Standards for Sustainability Reporting with the CCH Tagetik ESG Solution
Under the CSRD and ESRS, ESG reporting must be as accurate, consistent, and audit-traceable as financial reporting. To digitalize and automate these processes, Zavarovalnica Triglav and Triglav Group have selected the CCH® Tagetik ESG platform, with CRMT as the implementation partner. In this blog post, we explain why Triglav chose the solution and which capabilities will support the full reporting cycle. These range from double materiality assessment and greenhouse gas emissions calculation to automated validations and a complete audit trail. The post also covers what the Group expects from the new solution. Read more.
Addressing the Rising Pressure on CFOs to Deliver Measurable AI ROI
The message from the Gartner Finance Symposium was clear: the era of “wait and see” is over. Boards now expect AI to deliver measurable returns in planning, close, and reporting, not just in innovation labs. In this article, we explain why AI initiatives rarely stall on the model itself. They stall on data silos, audit readiness, and integration. We also show how CRMT connects advanced CCH® Tagetik capabilities to your existing data ecosystem. Read more.

For the fourth consecutive year, CCH® Tagetik has been named Premier Leader in the BPM Partners Vendor Landscape Matrix for performance management (2026/2027 edition). With an overall rating of 4.67 out of 5, it received the highest score among all evaluated vendors. It also earned an Outstanding customer satisfaction score. Read more.
AI in CPM: Is Your Finance Team Spending Time on Data or Decisions?
AI has become an active partner in finance, yet many teams still spend much of their time collecting, cleaning, and validating data instead of making decisions. This blog post offers a three-step diagnostic to find where your team is stuck in “data mode.” It then shows how the CCH® Tagetik Intelligent Platform helps shift the balance toward decisions, through autonomous data validation, conversational analytics, and generative narrative reporting. Explainable AI keeps every output transparent and leaves final approval in human hands. Read more.
